Sardar Sarovar Dam

The Sardar Sarovar Dam is a gravity dam on the Narmada river near Navagam, Gujarat in India. Four Indian states, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharastra and Rajasthan, receive water and electricity supplied from the dam. The foundation stone of the project was laid out by Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on April 5, 1961. The dam was inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi on September 17, 2017.

Rajvant Palace, Rajpipla

The Rajvant Palace Resort is a part of the 7acre Vijayraj palace complex constructed for Maharajah Vijay Singhji in 1915. The palace resembles a typical European mansion, with its Romanesque dome, classical columns, Greek capitals, and Venetian doors, Gothic arches. The interiors are appointed in original period furniture. A few rooms of the palace are set aside for a museum of trophies, stuffed animals, mirrors, portraits, textiles, glass and ceramics.

Shoorpaneshwar Temple

On the banks of the Narmada, where this river meets the river Dev, is one Surpaneshwar Shiva temple. It is only 5 km from the city of Bharuch, but is surrounded by the lush forests of South Gujarat. Instead of the buses, trains, and other vehicles that will take you to many other sites on your itinerary, a two hour journey on a small boat from Bharuch will get you there, giving you time to prepare yourself for the sanctity of the natural world, represented by a Shiva temple deep in a forest.
